2nd time at MK BBQ Cafe! They have affordable lunch specials and delicious bbq item combos that made this one of my now go-to spot in Rowland Heights. We happened to pass by this cute little restaurant in Rowland Heights inside Hong Kong plaza and decided to try it for ourselves. We got a 3 item combo of roasted duck (chopped with bones), honey glazed pork, and chicken with white rice ($8.99). Everything was good, but my favorite was the honey glazed pork & duck. So for our 2nd time, we got 2 orders of a 3 item combo (duck + 2 honey glazed pork), and one lunch special of sweet & sour pork ($12.99) Everything tasted better & fresher than the first time. We went around 11am and previously, we went in the afternoon. It's best to go before noon. Parking: Free Service: Excellent; friendly; fast service Ambiance: Clean; nice decor; saw a couple of tables for bigger groups of 8 people. Health rating: A Small con: rice could be better but for the price, I can't complain. I'll just get the bbq or other entrées by itself next time. Highly recommended and will try their other menu selections. Thanks, MK!

Highly recommend the new "Vegetarian Goose" (tofu skin and mushrooms) as a cold appetizer. We came back for dinner twice, and it did not disappoint. We had a few off-menu items -- listen to the servers for any specials, from fresh vegetables to fresh fish! Call ahead to reserve soup. Some soups and dishes need 1-3 days of notice. Also call ahead if you have a big party; tables are limited.

Great HK food! Not the cheapest but the dishes do taste better and portions are generous. Order knowing you'll have leftovers for days. The roast pork and tofu on rice was a highlight. The bbq pork is a little different from other places as they use a honey glaze. The roast duck was great. The cold milk tea and lemon tea are better than those at local HK style cafes. The tea in both tastes like it was steeped overnight and helps to cut the sweetness. Lemon tea was not syrupy, which is sadly rare these days. Service was great since we spoke Cantonese. I think this helped the servers. Will be coming back for the bbq pork, roast duck, and roast pork/tofu on rice. And milk tea. Apparently their takeout single serving lunch boxes are very popular so I'll be keeping it in mind for future picnics.
